At The Seahorse we specialise in the freshest local fish, seafood and meats cooked over a wood burning fire.

The Seahorse specialises in seafood sourced from the local fishermen and the nearby port of Brixham. Local species of fish and shellfish are some of the finest in the world and you can enjoy the best of these at The Seahorse. Depending on the season and the weather you can expect to find, prawns, lobster, crab, bass, scallops, turbot, soles, mullet and lots more.  We also have a small selection of meats which we roast over the fire; from our legendary “ Bistecca alla Fiorentina”, a large T-bone of Devon beef with rosemary & our own olive oil to veal liver roasted over the fire in pork fat, both are wonderful dishes that have become firm favourites. The restaurant is situated on the banks of the river Dart overlooking the water, the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and families are most welcome.

You can drink well with us, we have a list of over 160 bottles from £15 upwards. Our list is put together with our friend and wine buyer Tim McLaughlin-Green and many of the growers are personal friends. We buy at auctions regularly so expect a few gems at a fair price; wine is for drinking.

The Seahorse is run by Mitch Tonks and his great friend and long term business partner Mat Prowse.

Pearlfisher

Our courtesy launch, Pearlfisher, can take guests across the river at the end of the evening up until midnight but please make sure to book! This service is for the exclusive use of guests of the Seahorse and can take a maximum of 4 persons.
