Mitch at Dartington Food Fair:
SOUTH Devon foodies will have the chance to try something new and tuck into local specialities and treats when the Dartington Food Fair gets under way.
The three-day food spectacular will take place during the jubilee bank holiday weekend at the Shops at Dartington.
It is the second festival of its kind, but Dartington bosses believe it will be even bigger and better.
The festivities include 20 top chefs from around the region, cooking in the demonstration kitchen, including seafood champion, local restaurateur and fishmonger Mitch Tonks and award-winning cookbook chef Jane Baxter.
Suzy Atkins, a wine expert from the hugely popular TV show Saturday Kitchen, will also be making an appearance.
There will be hands-on fun for all to enjoy, young and old, and free activities such as clay pot making, face painting, fire juggling shows and animal petting, plus bookable sessions of kayaking, archery and bike riding.
Back this year will be the popular Food Pavilion with more than 50 producers from Devon and the West Country.
Ashridge Cider will also be coming back for their second year, hosting the Devon Cider Bar to help get everyone in the festive mood.
New for 2012 will be the craft tent, showcasing the finest Devon crafts and providing hands on activities for all to learn and enjoy.
Celebrations for the Queen's diamond jubilee will take place throughout the event with themed food and drink, competitions galore and live music from well-known groups. Entrance is £4 for adults while children under 12 go free and on-site parking is free.
